HITS is seeking a Fractional Government Contract Accountant with expertise in Unanet to handle federal invoicing and maintain DCAA-compliant financial records.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and submit accurate invoices through Unanet for federal contracts
- Maintain FAR/DCAA-compliant records
- Reconcile project budgets, labor distribution, and indirect rates
- Assist with month-end close, including journal entries and accruals
- Generate audit-ready financial reports
- Ensure data integrity and compliance across all finance activities
Ideal candidates will have:
- 3+ years’ experience using Unanet in a government contracting environment
- Working knowledge of FAR, DCAA, and indirect rate structures
- Experience with project-based billing, cost pools, and timekeeping compliance
- Skilled in Excel and financial reporting
- Strong attention to detail, independence, and time management
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
This role is 100% remote and requires approximately:
20 hours/month for the first 3 months, then 10 hours/month ongoing
